Farm Establishment
Land Selection
Well-drained loamy soil (pH 6.0–7.5), access to clean irrigation water, 6+ hours sunlight, gentle slope (2–5%), proximity to processing facilities (within 50 km).
Propagation & Planting
From Cuttings: Take 15–20 cm semi-hardwood cuttings. Dip in rooting hormone (IBA 3,000–5,000 ppm). Plant in sandy medium. Roots develop in 4–8 weeks.
Spacing: J. sambac: 1.0–1.5m (6,000–10,000 plants/ha). J. grandiflorum: 1.5–2.0m (2,500–4,500 plants/ha).
First-Year Establishment
Remove all flower buds. Water 2–3 times/week. Apply NPK 20:20:20 at 5g/plant monthly. Maintain weed-free zone of 50 cm radius.
Year 2+: Production Phase
Commercial-quality flowers in year 2–3. Full production by year 4–5. Can continue 15–25 years with proper management.
Irrigation Management
Drip Irrigation Recommended
Most efficient method. Reduces water use by 40–60%. Allows precise fertigation. System: 2–4 L/hr per emitter, 2 emitters per plant.
Furrow Irrigation
Traditional channels between rows. Less efficient (50–60%) but lower capital cost.
