Timing is Everything

Harvest between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM on dry mornings, when flowers have just opened and oil content peaks. Some species are night-harvested (9:00 PM – 2:00 AM).

Harvesting Methods

Stage 1: Bud Selection

Select buds white at the tip, showing color but not yet fully open.

Stage 2: Picking Technique

Pinch stem below calyx, pull gently with twist. Avoid crushing. Speed develops with experience.

Stage 3: Basket Management

Use shallow, ventilated baskets. Never stack more than 3 layers. Transport within 2–4 hours.

Flower petals spread on glass plates coated with vegetable fat. Absorbs volatile compounds over 24–72 hours. Repeated 30–40 times. Requires ~8,000 kg flowers per 1 kg absolute.

Commercial Standard
